A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

BALLISTIC is a competitive drone sport built around physics, momentum, and mastering your machine.

Chase the ball. Fight your momentum. Throw yourself across the arena. Recover before you become part of the scenery.

Outmaneuver the other team, line up the hit, and drive the ball into their goal.

Getting airborne is easy. Getting good is another matter.

Start with Assist and let the flight controller handle stabilization, or switch to Acro and take full manual control. Both flight modes can be tuned to fit how you want to fly.

Same drone. Same physics. Two very different ways to master them.

BALLISTIC is currently in early pre-alpha.
The game is actively being developed, so expect things to change as development continues.

What's in the Pre-Alpha?

The core game is playable now, whether you want to learn the ropes on your own, play against bots, or get a group together over LAN.

  • Free Play — No timer, no objective. Fly around, learn the controls, and practice hitting the ball.
  • Solo Matches — Set up a match and play with AI bots.
  • LAN Matches — Play together with other players on your local network.
  • Flexible Teams — Play anything from 1v1 up to 4v4, with uneven teams supported if you want them.
  • AI Bots — Add bots to either team and configure your match however you like.
  • 2 Arenas — Two maps are currently available to play.
  • Replay Viewer — Watch your matches back after you play.

Currently in development: More arenas, solo drills and ladder progression, and continued online multiplayer testing.

Online play is already being tested privately and will open up as development progresses.

Flight Manual

No in-game tutorial yet, so this is it for now. Quick read.

The Goal

Fly your drone and put the ball in the other team's goal.

Choose How You Fly

There are two ways to fly, selected in Settings. You can rebind your controls there too.

It's the same drone and the same physics either way. What changes is how much control you handle yourself.

Assist

Assist is the default and where everyone should start.

A flight controller handles leveling and stabilization for you, letting you focus on movement, positioning, and the game itself.

It's easier to pick up and fly, with the tradeoff that the same assistance limits some of the finer control you can have over your drone's position and angle.

Acro

Acro gives you full manual control.

Same drone. Same physics. But the stabilization is now yours to handle.

It's harder to fly, but in return you have complete control over the drone's orientation and movement.

Acro isn't required to be good at BALLISTIC. It's there for players who want that level of control and are willing to master it.

Assist — Keyboard & Mouse

Move W A S D
Up / Down Space / Shift
Turn (yaw) Mouse
Boost Left Mouse
Toggle view V
Reset drone R

Assist — Controller

Move Left Stick
Up / Down Right Stick (up/down)
Turn (yaw) Right Stick (left/right)
Boost Right Trigger
Ball-lock Left Bumper
Face ball Right Bumper
Toggle view X button
Reset drone A button

Acro — Controller

Default controls use RC Mode 2. Throttle is up-only, so ease off and you drop.

Throttle Left Stick (up)
Yaw Left Stick (left/right)
Pitch Right Stick (up/down)
Roll Right Stick (left/right)
Boost Right Trigger
Self-right Left Trigger

Four transmitter layouts (Modes 1–4) are available in Settings if you fly a different one.

The Rest

Boost gives you a burst of extra speed.

Ball-lock keeps the camera on the ball.

Face ball turns your drone toward the ball.

Ball-lock and Face ball both toggle on and off. They default to the controller bumpers and can be rebound for keyboard in Settings.

Toggle view switches between chase and FPV.

Reset drone recenters your drone. Handy in free play.
